In town for the Tall Ships, we always try to scout out a good Italian pizza restaurant, choose Granby Street! We were midafternoon, so we were able to sit right down on their outside patio. Our server was good, attentive and checked on us regularly. We shared a large 14” pizza, pepperoni, and a house salad, with a pitcher of beer. The salad came with some, let’s say, tomatoes and cukes were at their end of life stage, but the lettuce was fine. The pizza was good, nice crust with some critical bubbles, which I like. You could fold a slice for a bite and have it hold up without drooping and losing the cheese and toppings. The crust had a bit of an off taste, which I would describe as medicinal, my wife just more off, but it was light and still palatable. I have encountered this in the past, but can’t pinpoint the cause, and most times it goes away after sitting for awhile, or the next day cold out of the fridge, which is a good overall test if a good pizza, and I did eat this the next day, cold and it was good. As far as the check goes, we weren’t warned there would be a credit card use charge ahead of time, or we didn’t see it on the menu, then there was a service charge, what? This

I have eaten here many times while visiting Norfolk or the nearby Scope Arena. The place is not huge but have never had to wait for a table the times visited and a waitress has been over quickly. Prices are reasonable and food is good with generous portions. No complaints.

We were originally planning to go to another pizza place in the area, however, noticed that the reviews were higher on this place and after visiting, we understand why. The service was wonderful. They checked on us without interrupting several times to ensure everything was to our liking. The waitress was so excited to find out that this was our first time having cannolis and was happy to package them to go as we had explained. We were heading back to Richmond and it was approximately 6 o’clock so we were aware we were going to hit some level of traffic.

πŸ•πŸ§„ the food was good. The garlic knots weren’t super flavorful but they were fresh & fluffy. We ordered a deluxe pizza. It was pretty good. The service was good. A little slow, but really not a big deal for us. The place was a neat atmosphere. Very casual and laid back. πŸ‘€the photo you can see πŸ‘¨πŸ»β€πŸ³ bake the πŸ•πŸ• which is fun. Not from here but we’d come back again. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
